I have started a new twitter specifically for 90s trivia stuff (@90sTriviaTO). I’m considering doing Instagram (my fave) and Facebook as well but I’m feeling burrrrned out from social media. How does one juggle all the accounts (Twitter is easy thanks to Hootesuite, Instagram is the hardest).
With this new twitter account I now run 3 Twitters, 3 Facebooks, 2 Instagrams, 1 Tumblr, and 1 Pinterest that I mainly ignore). Also 2 websites. Whew.
We were asked to host a special Beverly Hills 90210 Trivia Night in honour of Jason Priestley’s new memoir. Obviously we were thrilled to do this, especially when he said he wanted to participate. On Friday May 9th the one and only Brandon Walsh walked into a packed room to surprise over a hundred BH90210 fans. It was amazing. He then graciously stayed and smiled, hugged and posed for fans as well as autographing copies of his book.
Thanks to HarperCollins Canada for helping make it happen!
I’ll Tumblr for youuuu. I’ve got a new project on the go. I’ve thought about it for years, wanting to have a space to talk about men’s chubster style. Too many searches on the topic lead to losing weight or ways to dress boring & hide yourself. Screw that. Bold colours, patterns, and skinny jeans are my motto! While the fashion industry is still a cruel cruel place for women, there is at least some movement of hot plus size fatshionistas showing how well women can dress. There is less of a push with fellas, so I want to help push it along. I also shop on a budget, and want to let people know where I get my threads!
So check it out if you want. I basically just post the fashion posts from my Instagram right now, but plan on including other images soon. Fat Guy Style is not limited to people who identify as male, so let’s get the masculine style ball rolling.
Last night I had the opportunity to perform at the “35 Performances for 35 Years Cabaret” as part of the 35th Rhubarb Festival. I revisited the only big piece of work that I’ve created and condensed a 45 minute show into 3 mins. It was a good time. It also made me look back at the content and footage and realize that I want to work on it again. It seems a shame to have all that work and leave it behind. While I have performed pieces of it since, I think the show has more to offer me. And since it’s been three years, it will be interesting to see what else I can add to the work, beside a whole lot more tattoos.
So here’s my new resolution to make it happen. I will do it.
I have finally decided to get with the program (cult?) and get myself an iPhone. The excitement of this is for me is mainly the camera and the opportunity to use social media more efficiently and actively. As such, you can now find me on Instagram (@kaleb_fluffy). I still use twitter (@MFluffySouffle) but it’s main purpose is as a 90s trivia portal.
Monday night trivia nights are still rolling along and everyone’s having a good time sharing in my abundance of 90s trivia knowledge. On Feb 17th we’ll be doing a special Absolutely Fabulous night!
Here’s a recent fave pic of mine from the last Eyes On Design show with Sook-Yin Lee!
Apparently, people like my trivia hosting. In addition to our super fun monthly TV trivia night at the Gladstone Hotel, I am now embarking on a new East End adventure and I’m so excited about it! It will be EVERY Monday at the super hot WAYLA Bar at Queen East & Carlaw. Can’t wait to see East End friends regularly & meet lots of new trivia lovers. I will also get to adventure beyond my tv knowledge and do ALL NINETIES!
A bonus is that the genius fabulous David Hawe has made some promo pics for me.
Fall is on it’s way which means Halloween shows! Fluffy finished a season of Docents Gone Wild tours of the Gladstone with a special tour for the Queen West Art Crawl. I got to be a part of Elton John’s Fashion Cares. Montreal is coming up with an exciting jam packed event for Pop Montreal.
I was a part of two submissions to Buddies Rhubarb Festival and have another bigger collaborative project on the go!
